In an extremely sensitive case of the history of Pakistan, main culprit Ijaz Mansoor, former Pakistan's ambassador to the United States - Hussain Haqqani , other petitioners, federal government, General Kayani and ISI Chief Lt General Pasha have filed their affidavits in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). The court is determined to clear the air about the secret memo allegedly delivered by him on behalf of Zardari to then US joint chief of staff Admiral Mike Mullen. According to the reliable sources during a meeting Haqqani has been questioned by the ISI Chief for his alleged attempts to broker a deal for Zardari to avoid a military takeover. Later on, Haqqani on the demand of Prime Minister Gillani has resigned.
Meanwhile, his wife Farah Naz Asfahani, who also happens to be Zardari's advisor, came out in defence of Haqqani and claimed that the memo was sent through a Blackberry phone and could be verified. But Haqqani till now failed to file the court case against Mansoor Ijaz. He is busy in presenting himself as Mr. Clean without taking any action against Mansoor Ijaz. Anyway, the past of Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz are quite controversial. It is suggested that he should face the inquiry and file the case against Mr. Mansoor instead maligning country’s intelligence agency while tweeting on the social media networks. It is also mentionable here that incase Haqqani still won’t pursue Mr. Ijaz court then his character would be consider doubtful in the country.
Here, I would also like to mention,in many talk shows some of anchors persons (Hamid Mir and Najim Sethi) of renowned electronic media group have started presenting Army and ISI as parties to “Memo Case”. In this regard Hamid Mir openly criticized ISI and army in on electronic media. Anyhow, many sensible Pakistani think tanks and opinion makers do have the unanimous opinion that memo case is a conspiracy against Pakistan and an attempt to pitch institutions against each other. But question arises that apart from CIA elements one has to find out those characters which are playing American agenda of pitching institutions against each other and thus ,cause political instability in the country. Regrettable, I would like to say that past history of Hamid Mir reveals that he is one of the famous characters who always tried to criticise ISI, Army and government. For examples, used to admire Taliban against the forces, alleged ISI in the case of Saleem Shazad and Omer Chema, his conversation with Taliban in the case of Squadron leader (Retired) Khawaja is on record.
Besides, Hamid Mir met many Taliban militants in Pakistan and Afghanistan. When Afghanistan was attacked by the US-led allied forces, Osama Bin Laden secretly invited Hamid Mir for his interview. In fact, he was having close ties both with the militants and external intelligence agencies. It was the former president Musharaff who was also deceived by Mir who used him to get popularity in the field of journalism.
Interestingly, few days back, Hamid Mir claimed that he is being threatened by some unknown individuals through cell phones. I think, Hamid Mir is just trying to earn cheep popularity or striving hard for some international award on the cost of Pakistan.
Concluding, I would like to say that probably CIA has influenced some of our media anchors for playing her agenda against sole nuclear Islamic power. In this connection proper dictation and briefing of anchors use to be arranged in local American embassy. Pakistani nation should identify the moles of journalism which are working against our national interest and playing in foreign hands. Moreover, Pakistani media pundit should show responsibility and asked anchors and producers to air the programme for the national unity.
